Training tips

"Run fast. Eat well. Climb shit. Lift shit. Have fun."

Those are the words from one Ella Anne Kociuba when asked for any OCR training tips. She's a bit of a rockstar amongst the OCR set thanks in no part to her fairly consistent podium stands and kick ass attitude...suppose it doesn't hurt that she's pretty easy on the eyes (Texas kicks ass like that). Sums it up pretty well, I think.  Bottom line: fuel your body, push your body.  What's on your training schedule today?

Conquer the Gauntlet

For anyone in the Dallas area that had to pull out of Savage Race due to the venue/date change, I was just tipped to a new race in the area in May.  Conquer the Gauntlet will be at the same venue that Savage was in on May 11. Four miles with 25 obstacles is nice. Looks to be a start up, so I have no real review on them & how they manage their races, just throwing the info out there for anyone who might be interested.  I'm skipping it as I'm already doing Spartan the week after & don't really feel I'm yet conditioned well enough to run back-to-back like that.

Savage Race

Unfortunately Savage Race changed their venue & date to November, so I had to pull out. They did make the refund process quick & painless, so I'll definitely consider them again in the future. If you would like info on the race in general, hit up www.savagerace.com.

Still running Firefly in March, Spartan in May & Tough Mudder in October.  Stay tuned to see if any more pop up worth the time.
